Star Blazers was the first Space Opera I was ever introduced to, and by far one of the best cartoons ever made. The story begins with an embattled planet Earth in dire straits as the Gamilons have destroyed the Earth’s surface with radioactive bombs. A message of hope is received from the mysterious Queen Starsha of Iskandar, along with plans to build a starship capable fo getting there. Derek Wildstar and his brave crew set off in their ship The Argo, which was built from the hull of an old battleship, to reach Iskandar and save the Earth.

This is the first seasion, when Scully was still the hard nosed realist, striving to debunk the unearthly events going on around her, while Mulder grasps for the most fantastic explanations, desperately wanting to believe.
